Walking alone to get an HIV test is scary, but going with a person you trust provides courage and a sense of shared responsibility to one another. The Sisters Center for Transgenders in Pattaya, Thailand, a partner of CAP-3D, used the Valentine’s Day festivities as an opportunity to declare a month of walking hand-in-hand with your loved ones to get tested for HIV at the Sisters Clinic. Motivational messages for people to undergo voluntary counseling and testing (VCT) were promoted on the clinic’s Facebook page in the form of photographs and messages about prevention. As a result of this promotion, over sixty transgender women received VCT at Sisters Center for Transgenders in the month following campaign launch.
