The USAID-supported Grassroots Equity and Enhanced Networks in the Mekong (GREEN Mekong) Program participated in the 4th ASEAN Social Forestry Network (ASFN) Annual Conference “Village Forests, REDD+, Conservation and Livelihoods” on June 17-19 in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. Presenting to over 150 representatives in attendance from grassroots communities, national governments, civil society organizations and the private sector, GREEN Mekong was later invited to introduce its program to the Delegates at the 7th ASFN Annual Meeting held on June 20-21. This exclusive opportunity generated Delegates’ interest in the learning networks and platforms that GREEN Mekong provides to develop capacities of stakeholders on grassroots equity in forest management and climate change mitigation. Potential areas of ASFN-GREEN Mekong collaboration have been identified, laying the foundation for GREEN Mekong’s constructive engagement with ASFN on future policy development.
