The USAID-funded programs Grassroots Equity and Enhanced Networks in Mekong (GREEN Mekong) and Lowering Emissions in Asia's Forests (USAID LEAF) have collaborated to produce a training video on gender equity.
The video compliments training programs that target climate change and community forestry practitioners; it emphasizes gender equity as a key element for sustainable climate change initiatives focusing on Mekong's forests, including REDD+. The video explains the concept of gender equity and outlines best practices that can inform climate change initiatives on the ground.
Shot in Vientiane in Lao PDR and the Baan Thung Yao community forest in Thailand, the video features grassroots and institutional knowledge and experience, on forest governance and management practices.
