Last week in Siem Reap, Cambodia, 19 senior provincial forestry officials from the Lower Mekong region reunited for the Third Regional Learning Group on Equitable Forest Governance, a series of learning events organized by USAID’s Grassroots Equity and Enhanced Networks in the Mekong project.

The officials further developed their ability to assess and promote grassroots equity and local engagement. At two community forestry and fisheries field visits, participants observed how multiple stakeholders work successfully together to secure natural resource use against threats.

From the information gathered in their local constituencies, participants are now developing an action plan to improve equity in their respective forest governance context.
