On March 3, top officials from Vietnam, the United States and the international wildlife community joined forces to launch Operation Game Change (OGC) in Hanoi, coinciding with World Wildlife Day. OGC brings governments, non-governmental organizations, students and celebrities from Vietnam, the U.S. and South Africa together to stop the illegal trade of rhino horns and to encourage consumers to stop buying products derived from endangered species.

OGC will conclude with a nationally televised event and concert in September for World Rhino Day to raise awareness to millions of people in Vietnam and around the world. Funded by the U.S. Department of State and led by Freeland, OGC complements and expands upon the Asia's Regional Response to Endangered Species Trafficking program, the U.S. Government’s largest counter wildlife trafficking initiative.
