From March 18 to 19 in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, the USAID LEAD and USAID-funded Vietnam Forest and Deltas programs provided training for 15 representatives from provincial departments and academies on the “Marginal Abatement Cost Curve (MACC) Analysis to Support Deriving Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Targets.” Attendees learned MACC concepts, approaches and analysis data needs.
They also developed an action plan and identified a sub-working group to assess and rank identified greenhouse gas mitigation options. The MACC training is one in a series of technical workshops provided by USAID in cooperation with the government of Thanh Hoa to develop and implement a provincial green growth action plan under the national Vietnam Green Growth Strategy.
