Mekong - U.S. Partnership
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), in collaboration with the Government of Laos Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), invited participants to attend a workshop delivered by experts from the USACE Institute for Water Resources on public participation, collaboration and conflict transformation in Vientiane, February 23 – 25, 2016. The workshop focused on the importance of planning for public involvement, engaging stakeholders, and addressing conflict in order to increase transparency and overall benefits of planning, design, and operations of hydropower projects.
The Mekong-U.S. Partnership is a multinational partnership among Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, and the United States to create integrated cooperation among the five Lower Mekong countries. Learn more >
