RECOFTC Publishes Q&A Booklet on Equity in Forests and Climate Change Context

RECOFTC, the Center for People and Forests, recently published a new addition to its climate change handbook series, “Equity in Climate Change and REDD+,” with USAID and the Norwegian Agency for Development (NORAD) support through their respective projects, Grassroots Equity and Enhanced Networks in the Mekong and Grassroots REDD+.

The projects identified a need for a product that clearly and concisely defines “grassroots equity.” The target audience is practitioners engaged in training and awareness on the social dimensions of forest-based climate change mitigation.

The handbook can also serve as reference material for stakeholders at sub-national levels directly engaged with local communities in the development and implementation of climate change mitigation measures and related forest management practices. Prior to the development of this handbook, both projects published jointly a training manual,“Improving grassroots equity in the forests and climate change context.”

The equity handbook will be made available in the five national languages of the Lower Mekong Region in addition to English.
