The English language component of the LMI Education Pillar successfully concluded its fifth and final year, culminating with the publication of a seven-unit, open source curriculum for “English for Professional Purposes.” During year five of the program, over 1,800 provincial and technical teachers, 528 government officials and researchers, 100 young leaders, and 20 teacher-trainers in all five LMI partner countries received training from English Language Fellows and local teachers using the LMI PCSL curriculum. This innovative course builds English language skills for improved communication among professionals to support regional collaboration and strengthen ASEAN integration. The full curriculum is being disseminated to teachers throughout the region, with an estimated reach of tens of thousands of students.
Over the five years of the LMI PCSL English project, more than 3,800 government officials, teachers and students improved their English professional communication skills.
