Mekong - U.S. Partnership
A non-traditional security focused flagship initiative, the Pathfinder Health Program helped Mekong sub-regional health authorities identify and respond to future emerging infectious diseases. After working with U.S. government experts to develop action plans, Pathfinder fellows received funds for pilot research programs to help communities prevent disease emergence and spread. The Pathfinder program complemented long-standing U.S. support for public health to Southeast Asia, including ongoing U.S. assistance to combat COVID-19.
The Mekong-U.S. Partnership is a multinational partnership among Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, and the United States to create integrated cooperation among the five Lower Mekong countries. Learn more >
