Professional Communication Skills for Leaders
Forum 2: Strengthening Professional Collaboration Skills
May 20 to May 22, 2014, Bangkok, Thailand
Chulalongkorn University Language Institute (CULI) in collaboration with the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. Embassy in Thailand is sponsoring a culminating professional forum in Bangkok, Thailand, from May 20 to 22, 2014, for selected participants from each face-to-face Professional Communication Skills for Leaders seminar.
Rationale: In order to forge strong regional partnerships within their fields of expertise, Forum participants will polish their presentation skills for regional and international conferences and seminars, enhance their meetings skills, and network with their counterparts and colleagues from the Lower Mekong Initiative countries.
Participants: Three seminar participants and one alternate from each in-country seminar have been jointly selected by the LMI English Language Fellows and their co-teachers in each host country in conjunction with the Thailand-based Distance Learning instructors. The invitees distinguished themselves in classroom participation, final PowerPoint presentations, and online Distance Learning webinars. A total of 45 participants from Cambodia, Laos, Burma, Vietnam, and Thailand have been invited from the LMI Education, Health, and Energy Security Pillars.
Highlights:
- Keynote speaker on professional communication skills in a multi-cultural context
- Pillar-specific guest speakers followed by participants’ discussion forum
- Collaborative project to be devised, created, and showcased in a poster presentation
- Value-added features such as learning Prezi, writing a proposal, and creating a poster presentation
- Opportunities to share cultural perspectives
Venue: Mandarin Hotel, Rama IV Road, Bangkok, Thailand
Funding: CULI is paying for round-trip airfare, airport transfers, and meals from the U.S. Embassy RELO grant funds. Lodging in Bangkok is funded by the Royal Thai Government.
