Mekong - U.S. Partnership
The Xayaburi Dam in Lao PDR is the first of several planned hydropower projects on the main-stem of the Lower Mekong River, and has implemented fish passage systems to allow for upstream and downstream passage of fish. DOI provided technical assistance on the monitoring of those fish passage systems using acoustic camera technology to determine the success of the fish passage system and potentially recommend improvements at this and other sites.
The Mekong-U.S. Partnership is a multinational partnership among Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, and the United States to create integrated cooperation among the five Lower Mekong countries. Learn more >
